FAQ's

Some frequently asked questions:

  • Just how water resistant is my watch?

The following is an approximate guide to how well your watch would do in the prescence of water.

  • A watch that is marked water resistant without a depth indication is designed to withstand accidental splashes of water only.  Do not submerge such a watch.
  • Water-resistant to 30 meters (100') will withstand splashes of water or rain but should not be worn while swimming or diving.
  • Water-resistant to 50 meters (165'), suitable for showering or swimming in shallow water.
  • Water-resistant to 100 meters (330') is suitable for swimming and snorkeling.
  • Water-resistant to 150 meters (500') is suitable for snorkeling
  • Water-resistant to 200 meters (660') is suitable for skin diving.
  • Diver's 150 meters (500') meets ISO standards and is suitable for scuba diving.
  • Diver's 200 meters (660') meets ISO standards and is suitable for scuba diving.

It is not recommended that you swim or dive with your watch unless it has a screw-down crown, screw-lock or screw-in crown and is water-resistant to at least 100 meters.

  • What about hot tub's?

It's not a good idea to wear your watch in a hot tub.  The extreme heat can cause the metal parts in the watch to expand at a different rate than the rubber gaskets designed to keep it water tight, therefore allowing water to seep in.  Sudden temperature changes are very hard on your watch.

  • What about Warranty?

All our watches come with a warranty.  The specific warranty details that pertain to your watch are enclosed with your purchase.  Please mail in your warranty card to the manuracturer or company listed on the warranty as soon as you receive your watch to ensure active warranty coverage.  Please be advised that all warranty service work is to be completed by the manufacturer or company listed on the warranty and not Nice Timing Watches, etc.
